Description

Here is a design of my own the Excalibur. A bit of history behind this one. I was originally going to use the Lexington class from KA, but found the design didn't work so instead I decided to design my own. I still wanted the blend of Constitution and Excelsior technology and so this is what I came up with. 

In-verse class history:

The Excalibur, which was named after the ill-fated Constitution class damaged beyond repair in 2267 by the M5 computer, was one of two prototypes design for the great transwarp experiment. However being the more conservative design, utilising more established technology, and the smaller of the two classes lost out. Eventually Admiral Wesley of Starfleet tactical saw the potiental of the class and was able to get the Excalibur refitted. Re-purposed into a dedicated command cruiser for smaller fleets and taskforces, a role it was ideally suited for due to being smaller and more lightly armed compared to the Excelsior.

Hello:
 I wonder why I never posted a comment here (maybe I did in MSFC long ago ^^; ).

 While it does look like a shortened-Excelsior, truth is this ship has an identity on it's own, and I would love to see what is this ship capable of ingame someday :) .
